May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Subscribe to our social media channels to keep up with all the events this month. Due to the pandemic, we are exclusively available online. We are hosting webinars and information sessions to educate, advocate and support our community.

We remain committed to our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals who live with mental illnesses and for their families by promoting the availability of effective services and resources, through education, support, and advocacy in Lancaster, Chester and York Counties.

NAMI believes that Mental Illnesses are brain disorders. One in five people is affected by mental illness. In fact, 57 million Americans a year experience some type of mental illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or anxiety disorders. You are not alone!

NAMI’s educational programs, support groups, and resources are available to you at the national, state, and local levels. We invite you to navigate this website and our social media platforms to see what services are most suitable for your needs. All our support groups, education webinars, and advocacy opportunities are being offered on a digital platform. We mobilized quickly to launch multiple opportunities to learn and understand positive coping skills during this troubling time.

We hope that you will join us in the fight to eliminate stigma and advocate for the best treatments for those with mental illness. With the right education, support, and treatments, recovery is possible.
